Rules For Candidates
  • Prospective candidates should be members of the IDA and should contact their branches for details.
  • All entries should be received within the stipulated time via post or online (no entry shall be accepted thereafter).
  • Unlimited entries are welcome.
  • Elimination rounds will be conducted in the colleges as per which the finalists will be shortlisted.
  • Questions will be based on dental related subjects and articles of all academic years.
  • A registration fee cheque/DD of Rs. 100/- should be posted with the form as registration fees.
Details Of The Event
  • Venue: During college festival week or at IDA annual conference meet.
  • Duration : 1hour 30 minutes.
  • 3 rounds of the quiz will be conducted at the end of which the winner will be declared.
    • Round 1: multiple choice question (3 questions each).
    • Round 2: no option round (3 questions each).
    • Round 3: buzzer round (3 questions).
    • Negative marking for each wrong answer.
Prizes
  • 1st Prize Rs. 5,000/-
  • 2nd Prize Rs. 2,500/-
  • 3rd Prize Rs. 1,000/- and Certificates.

Paper Presentation

IDA introduces an intra and inter collegiate paper presentation competition to provide an opportunity for participation by the dental student members from all dental colleges across India.

Abstract of Presentation :(not more than 250 words)
Subject :One brief sentence, providing the rationale for the topic chosen and/or the question to be answered. This can be with or without short citation(s) to published data that is/are easily available for reference if necessary.
Result :The results should be in accordance with the topic chosen and summary stated in a maximum of ten sentences.
Conclusion :  This is for any conclusion(s) that can be drawn from the presentation. The final statement is crucial, because it supports the scientific value of the paper.

Eligibility Criteria

1) Prospective candidates should be members of the IDA and should contact their branches for details.
2) The entries should be posted 2 months prior to the event.
3) The entries will be shortlisted as per the content of the abstract.
4) The approval letter to the shortlisted candidates will be send via e-mail within next 20 days.
5) A cheque/DD of Rs. 100/-should be posted with the form as registration fees.

Rules For The Candidates

1) The entries will be judged by the Presentation Award Committee.
2) Each presentation should not extend beyond a time limit of 10 minutes.
3) Each participant should submit 1 soft and 1 hard copy of the presentation along with him/her on the day of the presentation.

Judging Criteria

The Committee will consider each presentation participation as follows: 50% for verbal presentation and 50% for format of the presentation.
The following will be considered:
1. Originality and design of the topic;
2. Quality of the data; 
3. Scientific value of the paper;
4. Quality of the presentation;
5. Oratory skill of the candidate.

2) Duration of the event: 3 hours.

50% resolution of the photograph.

1) The entries—all in poster format—will be judged by the IDA Poster Awards Committee.
2) Use the following instructions when preparing your poster.

  • Dimensions of the poster board are 6 feet wide by 3 feet high.
  • Your display should include title of the abstract and author(s) name.
  • You have complete freedom in displaying your information in figures, tables, text, photography, etc. Figures should be designed to be viewed from a distance and should use clear visible graphics and large type.
  • The presentation must cover the same material as the abstract. Please do not write or paint on the poster board.
  • Bring your own pushpins. Do not use Velcro, tape or staples to mount your poster.
  • Attach a small photograph of yourself to the poster so that other participants can recognize you as the presenter.

Judging Criteria

1) The Committee will consider presentation as follows:
50% for verbal presentation and
50% for data of the poster.
