Initiated in the year 1946, IDA today has grown into a giant body, comprised of 29 state branches and 290 local branches, representing 40,000 dental professionals. Time has been a witness to the evolution of the association and also of the dental profession over the years. With the development of the dental profession and the dental technology, IDA strives to keep up the pace and support the development of the profession and the oral health in the country. The untiring efforts contributed by the association for the benefit of the profession and oral health of the country are remarkable. But, that is not enough, there still enormous work that has to be undertaken, for the benefit of the professionals as well as for the entire country’s oral health. For the mother land who has given you the opportunity and the platform for your progress. So why not use a platform where you take a small step and see the outcome magnified in folds? A platform where the individual efforts are channelized to attain a magnitude of service that brings a world of difference in the oral health care of India? Yes, though the toil appears big, it can be achieved if a united effort is pooled in the direction of co- development of the entire profession. An effort can be made that dentistry and oral care seeps in the masses. An effort can be made towards raising Indian dentistry to the highest realm of technology and service.
